Zoom Your Way Through the Corona Crisis

Ah, yes! Zoom. The connector of the universe. I bet the majority of the population with internet connection have experienced at least one Zoom meeting. If you were one of them, how did that go? Were you delighted? Frustrated? Confused? 

​​Well, I'm here to help -- in a small way. I love technology, so I've had a bit of fun these last few months playing with the bells and whistles. . .

The first is the VIRTUAL BACKGROUND -- you can find the option in the drop down (arrow) next to the video icon in your "Toolbar" seen while you are in a meeting.

The two below are examples, made on CANVA. You can also add virtual backgrounds from your own photos. Believe me, it's a conversation piece!

This one is animated -- the wings flutter, and a halo appears over my head.

This one, I had to reverse by editing once it was downloaded to my photos.

Then, there are the everyday tips to enhance your image on the screen:

• Make sure the light (preferably a window) is facing you, not behind you. Otherwise you are a dark blob on the screen.
• Find the camera pinpoint on your device, and keep looking at it as you speak. It will appear you are having direct eye-contact with your fellow Zoomers.
• Wear a simple-patterned shirt or blouse, unless, like me, you want to bring a bit of joy into the meeting.😇
• The camera should be at your eye level, so you are not looking down or up at the viewers.
• Wear earbuds or a headset - it tones down any outside noise for you and your fellow zoomers.
• Be aware of what is in your background -- no dirty laundry, etc.
